Watching Trump's inauguration1 unfold has been a little like watching two cloaked figures representing the dark side and the light side of The Force (I won't venture to say who's who!) wield their lightsabers in a sparks-flying clash of national proportions. To regain some personal soul-equilibrium, I sat down earlier this week and asked God what He thought about it all. Here are a few things He said to me.2
What insights has God given you – from Scripture – that speak to our hearts in these days? Please comment.
1 This blog is not pro-Trump or anti-Trump. It would apply no matter who was elected and being installed as our next President.
2 As a Christian, I affirm the biblical truth that God speaks through Scripture to the heart (not to the ears in an audible voice) of a Christ-trusters. This blog reflects that very activity of God. All this is by God's grace and not by my own goodness. Any claim any human being makes as being "the voice of God" must always be measured by Scripture alone. Scripture alone has authority to measure what is truly "of God" and what is not. See John 4, 14, and 16 for more on this incredible honor bestowed upon Christians by the God of the Bible. See 1 Timothy 3:16-17 for a start on the authority of Scripture.
