“I just want to tell you much I enjoyed and gained at the workshop Saturday. I can't tell you how well-focused and important this material is, along with the way you present it.”
This is just one of the many positive comments from students who attended our April 25, 2009 Life Team 101 workshop. Twenty-four people representing ten churches spent the morning with veteran instructor and CFL President, Rev. Douglas W. Merkey, learning how to start or grow a gospel-driven Life Team.
Life Team 101 emphasizes how champions of life can minister from a constant love-connection with Jesus Christ made possible by the Gospel. Along with that core value, students are given visionary underpinnings for a healthy Life Team, biblical ministry principles for operating in a church, and tools to discern God’s mission for their particular Life Team/church/community. Our time together is also designed to be encouraging and fun by using movie clips, analogies, object lessons, and time for dialogue and interaction with the teacher and each other. Learning abounds, as these students reveal:
“Very encouraging… Film clips (were) very helpful in getting points across…”
“Not boring – enthusiastic training… great, great info and vital for (our) Life Team!”
“Well presented – good interaction…”
“Well done. Good analogies to allow clarity of understanding – and the movie clips helped, too.”
