On Saturday, October 29, 2011, about 25 Lutherans for Life (LFL) leaders from across Missouri convened at Christ Memorial Lutheran church in St. Louis for CFL’s Life Team Leader training. The group came at the invitation of LFL State President, Diane Albers, in partnership with CFL’s President, Pastor Doug Merkey. The all-day workshop was punctuated with robust discussion, illustrations, and teaching around the topic of forming and leading a Life Team.
This training represented the fruit of a years-in-the-making partnership between LFL and CFL. It was a big step toward local LFL communities developing CFL-like Life Teams. We rejoice in God’s goodness to bring this training about, and pray for these groundbreaking LFL leaders.
Here is what attendees had to say about the leader training:
"I can see how this training cna help in all aspects of our life - very helpful."
"Video clips added variety to the presentation and promoted thought."
"Articles in the back of the notebook very helpful."
"I think we all want to be more effective in our churches, but also for our churches to be more effective. This course gives us the tools to start the process. The emphasis on being gospel-driven and submitting to church leadership is especially helpful."
