The roadmap below describes the basic journey to building a healthy Life Team.  As you read it, keep these important things in mind: 

• Churches for Life is the expert at building Life Teams. We want to walk with you on your journey, so contact us at info@getintolife.org for help. 
• Every church is different, so CFL refines this roadmap as needed.
• Life Teams are not born in a microwave! To build a solid Team, navigating this roadmap generally lasts about one and a half years.  Remember, the healthy, long-term ministry we desire must be firmly built, and that takes time.
• Remember the gospel. It’s Author and message are the primary reason for even embarking on this journey. Continually revisit the gospel and bask in the joy of your being-rescued by Jesus Christ. 

1. Share the idea for a Life Team with your pastor and/or church leadership.
2. Ensure the idea is understood and embraced by your pastor and church leadership.
3. Install a Life Team Leader using this job description, CFL’s Life Team Leader training, and CFL’s Life Team 101.
4. Invite church members to become Life Team members by sharing the idea of a Life Team with them, holding exploratory events, and praying.
5. Install Life Team Members using this job description and CFL's Life Team 101.
6. Form as a Team by calling your first formational meeting where you begin to establish officers, a regular monthly meeting, and general Life Team boundaries.
7. Discover God’s plans for your particular Team, church, and community.
8. Submit your Team's findings regarding God’s plans to your church oversight and seek their input and blessing.
9. Refine your plans, if necessary, and then begin equipping initiatives. This stage usually involves interviewing outside agencies for resource expertise and partnerships.
10. Communicate regularly with your specific church oversight on progress and seek input.
